A new Japanese restaurant called Yugafu Japanese Bistro opened in February 2021. The sushi chef used to work for Kibune Sushi in Kitsilano.
We ordered Omakase course which comes with appetizers, sushi, soup and dessert.
Cold Chawanmushi was nice for a hot summer night. Alfonsino was special of the day. Ume (plum) sauce was unique and refreshing. The combination of monkfish liver and scallop was just delicious.
Sushi Nigiri
The fish was super fresh and so delicious. The rice was just right amount. I enjoyed each piece of nigiri.
One thing that I was disappointed with was the dessert wasn’t homemade.

Yes. It wasn’t just a Japanese restaurant. The presentation and quality of food were amazing. The price for Omakase was only $55. You cannot have this musI wish I could have tried tempura, yakitori, oden and kushi-age, but I was too full to eat anything else.
It is quite far from Vancouver, but it is definitely worth a try. You can’t get such good quality and delicious sushi at this price in Vancouver.
