The Best Japanese Cream Puff -Storm City Coffee & Sweets in Kitsilano Vancouver

Yu

A cafe in Kitsilano. Delicious cookie sandwiches, scones, muffins, cookies, and the Japanese favorite, cream puffs! You can have them here. Of course, the coffee is also delicious.

It is located at Broadway and Waterloo st. It is a calm café on the first floor of a condominium. You might miss it for a moment, but it’s a so-called Neighborhood café that’s always crowded.

I have been coming here since it opened. Their scones and cookie sandwiches are delicious. It’s not cheap, but it’s firm and filling.

The bread for the sandwiches is focaccia, which is also baked in the café. The avocado toast, a popular item made with this bread, has a unique taste with its miso tahini, kale pesto, and other sauces. The toppings of pickled daikon radish, lemon salt, and kale chips are also very flavorful. (It’s all homemade too!).

Yes, as you may have noticed from the use of miso and pickled vegetables, the manager of this place is Japanese. She is also a pastry chef. The cream puffs and pound cakes she makes are to die for! You can also order cream puffs only from Creams puffs by Yoko.

The coffee is made with beans from a local roaster called Timberland. The beans are available at the shop. They also make their own drinks, including turmeric lemonade and chai concentrate.

This is turmeric lemonade. It’s delicious with a decent taste of spices.
There is also a corner where you can buy locally made products used in the store.

Here is their famous cream puff! The flavor of the day was green tea. My daughter’s favorite. The flavor changes every week.

Matcha powder is sprinkled on top of the whipped cream.
There is plenty of matcha custard inside.

Gluten-free, non-sweetened muffins, vegan banana muffins, cookies, and even pound cake are available.

It is a great place to have a relaxing coffee time by yourself, or go out for a delicious lunch with your friends. I grantee you will enjoy their food and drink!
