The Best Community Café in North Vancouver: United Strangers Coffee

North Vancouver is a suburban residential area in the middle of a forest wilderness. when I lived in Deep Cove more than 20 years ago, the only thing I could find was Honey Donut Cafe in Deep Cove, but recently restaurants and cafes have been popping up.

According to their website, it was a corner store and grocery store that has been around since the 1970s closed in the late 1990s, and reopened in 2020 after being converted into a café and general store. Every time I stop by, it is always very busy. It has become a popular Neighborhood Café.

The coffee, muffins, and other baked goods are nice, but my favorite is the goods they have here.

They have a selection of natural, eco-friendly, ethical, and local products.

My daughter is interested in these earrings, which are designed and made by a 15-year-old girl who lives in Squamish. The designer has dyslexia, which makes it difficult for her to do her schoolwork in a normal way. While she was staying at home during COVID last year, she came across polymer clay and started making earrings. She also sponsors teenagers in Kenya with the proceeds so that they can go to school.

There are works by local artists on display. I can feel the owner’s desire to cherish the community.

Not only do they sell general merchandise, but they also sell groceries. Here is what I always buy when I go here.

Rootable potato chips made in Whistler. The White Truffle Flavour chips are especially my favourite. Once you open them, they are gone in a flash.

The ski season is about to begin. After skiing at Seymour Mountain, this is a great place to stop by. (Please note that it closes at 4:00)
